MASCOM:Impacting
the future of communication
Manorama School of Communication (MASCOM) was launched on August 17, 2002 and has quickly established itself in the country as a premier
centre of journalism training. MASCOM’s aim is to provide quality manpower for the media industry.
MASCOM will expose students to real-life media production and management and train them in state-of-the-art journalism and publishing. For
students aspiring to a career in journalism, MASCOM training will give them a headstart in the profession.
MASCOM aims at providing state-of-the-art training to young graduates aspiring for a career in print journalism. The ninth 10-month course will
begin in July 2010 and end in May 2011. Classes and practicals are held on MASCOM’s premises in Kottayam. This is a hands-on course, with the emphasis on practical training. Students are given a well-rounded education in journalism and the important issues of the day and provided with advanced skills in reporting and writing for the print medium. Students are also exposed to the state-of-the-art printing technology and
communication systems employed at Malayala Manorama and receive ample opportunities to interact with leading academic, political and media
personalities.
