MASCOM provides state-of-the-art training to young graduates aspiring for a career in print journalism. The next 10-month course will begin in July 2008 and end in May 2009. Classes and practicals will be held on MASCOM premises in the heart of Kottayam. This is a hands-on course, with a heavy emphasis on practical training. Students receive a well-rounded education in journalism and develop advanced skills in reporting and writing for the print medium. Students are also exposed to the state-of-the-art printing technology and communication systems in use at Malayala Manorama and they have ample opportunities to interact with well-known political and media personalities.

The focus of the course is to maximise the employment potential of students. Accordingly, the utmost emphasis is given to hands on training, while ensuring students acquire a solid grounding in journalism theory. The course aims at producing journalists who will become fully functional members of the media industry in the shortest possible time.
